Coffee Brown soft plush bear backpack

Bear Plush Backpack | Soft Cartoon Rucksack

Opening

A plush backpack is a different object from a nylon one, and the difference is not only how it looks. It is warm to wear against the back, it has no structure of its own so it takes the shape of whatever is inside it, and it cannot be wiped down the way a coated fabric can. Worth knowing before it becomes the everyday bag.

The body is a full plush bear with the shoulder straps set into the back, in coffee brown or cream.

What you get

One backpack in the colour you select. Sold singly — both colours are shown in the gallery so the shade can be compared before choosing.

Materials and construction

  • Body: polyester plush
  • Lining: woven fabric
  • Straps: set into the back panel rather than surface-stitched

The pile is what decides how this bag ages, and it is the honest trade against a coated nylon one. A smooth-faced bag sheds dirt and sponges clean in a minute. A plush pile holds it — dust settles into the nap, and a mark rubbed hard enough to lift will mat the fibres around it, which shows more than the mark did. This is a bag to keep off floors rather than one to clean afterwards.

Cream will show this sooner than Coffee Brown. If it is going to be carried daily rather than occasionally, the darker of the two is the sensible choice.

Fit notes

Because it is unstructured, it hangs long and narrow when loaded and slumps when empty, rather than holding an open shape. Soft items pack well; a rigid box or a laptop does not sit flat against the back.

Check the stated dimensions against what you intend to carry before ordering. A plush bag looks larger than it measures, since the pile adds bulk that is not usable space inside.

Styling

Coffee Brown is the more practical of the two and the one that will still look reasonable after a term of daily use. Cream is the better-looking of the pair on day one and the one that will show it. Both read as a novelty piece rather than a neutral accessory, so they work with a casual outfit and sit oddly with a formal one.

Care

Surface clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent, working with the pile rather than against it, and air dry away from radiators. Do not machine wash. An unstructured bag stretches under its own water weight and the straps are the part that takes the strain, so a wet wash is what loosens them where they meet the body.

What is not included

The bag is supplied empty. Books, accessories, charms, clothing and anything else shown in the photographs are styling only, as is any second bag pictured alongside the one being shown.
