Opening

The problem it solves is the one-handed reach. You are holding a baby with one arm and the wipes are in the bottom of a bag on the floor. A hanging organiser puts nappies, wipes, a muslin and a bottle at chest height beside the changing mat, so the thing you need is where your free hand already is.

It straps over a rail — the side of a changing table, the outside of a cot, or a pram frame — and hangs flat against it. The front is a raised bunny face rather than a printed one, so it reads as part of the room instead of as a piece of equipment.

Fabric and safety

Three things worth knowing before you hang it, and they are the reason to read this section rather than skip it.

• Mount it on the outside of a cot, never the inside. Safer sleep guidance is that the cot itself stays clear — no bags, no toys, nothing loose within reach of the baby.
• Keep the straps short. Fasten them so no loop hangs down where a child could reach it. Trailing strap length is the risk with any hanging nursery item, and it is entirely within your control at the point of fitting.
• Go carefully on a pram. Weight hung from pram handles raises the centre of gravity and prams tip more easily than people expect. Mount it low on the frame rather than on the handlebar, and keep what you put in it light.

Move it to a wardrobe door or the side of a changing unit once your child can stand and reach in a cot. That is usually the point at which a cot-mounted organiser stops being appropriate.

Fit notes

The straps are the variable. They suit a standard cot rail and most changing table sides, but a wide or deep rail will use up more strap length and leave less to fasten with. Measure the depth of what you intend to hang it on before ordering if it is anything other than a conventional cot.

It hangs flat rather than standing up, so it holds soft items well and rigid ones less tidily. A stack of nappies sits fine; a tall bottle leans.

Styling

Grey works alongside the neutral pieces in the range and disappears against a painted rail. Pink reads as the more decorative choice and pairs with the softer colourways in the comforter range. Either makes a practical gift for a second baby, where the parents already own the toys and would rather have something they will use daily.

Care

Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent, and air dry away from radiators. Do not machine wash — the raised bunny face is a shaped panel and loses its form under agitation, and the straps are the part that must not weaken. Empty it before cleaning and let it dry fully before rehanging.

What is not included

The organiser is supplied empty. Nappies, wipes, bottles, cotton wool, toys, blankets and anything else shown inside or beside it in the photographs are styling only. The cot, pram and changing table shown are not included either.
