Opening

Fabric and safety

A matched set means the pieces were made together rather than assembled from whatever was in stock, so the colours hold across the fabrics instead of drifting between them. That sounds cosmetic and mostly is, but it is the difference between a set that looks bought and one that looks assembled.

Check the bib fastening when it arrives and every few washes after. On any baby garment a press stud that has worked loose is a small part in the wrong place, and the neck fastening is the component under the most repeated stress.

Intended for supervised use. The Lullaby Trust advises keeping the cot clear of loose items under twelve months, so the soft pieces are for daytime and supervised play.

Fit notes

The bib is one size with an adjustable neck, so it fits from newborn through the dribbling months rather than a single stage. The comforter is one size and is a hold-and-carry object rather than a blanket — small enough to bunch in a fist, not big enough to cover a baby.

Everything in a set is the same character, so this is a gift for someone who will like that character, not a way of covering several bases at once.

Styling

Cream, Khaki and Dark Khaki are the safe choices when you do not know the nursery. Brick Red, Purple and Mustard suit parents whose taste you already know, and photograph better if the gift is opened in front of people. Star is the only non-animal option, which makes it the one to pick if the parents would rather avoid characters.

Care

Machine wash the fabric pieces at 30°C on a gentle cycle with like colours, and wash the deeper shades separately for the first few cycles. Dry flat or tumble low. Do not bleach. The box is card and is not washable — keep it if you want the set to store together, or recycle it.

What is not included

The gift box is included; additional wrapping, ribbon and a gift card are not. Anything else in the photographs is styling only: clothing, blankets, baskets, wooden toys, dummies, and any second set shown alongside the one being photographed.
