Running Bear Plush Toy | 40cm Soft Cushion
Opening
40cm is the size that decides what this is for. Below about 30cm a plush toy is something to carry; above about 50cm it stops fitting on a bed without taking it over. At 40cm this sits in between — big enough to lean against on a sofa or use as a back rest at a desk, small enough to be dragged upstairs by one arm.
The bear is modelled in a running pose rather than sitting upright, with a bib at the neck. Two colours, dark and khaki, across three designs each.

The limb seams are the part to check, and a running pose is exactly why. A seated bear gets picked up around the middle; a bear with its arms and legs out gets picked up by whichever limb is nearest, so the shoulder and hip seams carry the whole weight each time it is lifted. Look at those four points on arrival and every few months after, and stop using it rather than repairing it if a seam starts to open.
A 40cm plush holds a lot of dust for its size, since the pile traps it and the filling holds it. If it lives on a bed rather than a shelf, it wants airing more often than it wants washing.

Fit notes
A running pose does not stand up on its own and does not sit squarely on a shelf. It is designed to lie, lean or be held, so if you want something to stand on a chest of drawers this is not the shape for it.
Allow a few centimetres either way on the height. A soft-filled toy measures differently depending on how firmly it has been stuffed, and no two come out identical.
Styling
Khaki is the more neutral of the two and disappears against most bedding. Dark carries more contrast and shows less marking, which matters on a toy that spends time on the floor. As a birthday gift the size does the work — 40cm reads as a proper present in a way a 20cm one does not.
Care
Surface clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent, working with the pile rather than against it, then air dry away from radiators. Do not machine wash — a filled toy this size takes days to dry through, and filling that stays damp in the middle is what causes the smell that never quite leaves. Air it outdoors on a dry day instead.
What is not included
The bear is supplied on its own. Clothing, blankets, cushions, other toys and anything else shown in the photographs are styling only, as is any second bear pictured alongside the one being shown.
