Cream silicone and beech beaded dummy clip

Silicone and Beech Dummy Clip | Beaded Soother Chain

£8.99
Colour

Opening

This is the plain one. No flowers, no hearts, no carved detail — just silicone beads and beech wood in a muted colour, which is the point if you would rather the clip did not compete with whatever the baby is wearing.

The palette runs Cream, Oat, Khaki, Blush, Pink, Light Lilac, Light Blue and Pea Green, all soft enough to sit against most outfits without being matched to any of them. Short cord, clip at one end, loop at the other. It fastens to the front of a top and nowhere else.

What you get

One dummy clip in the colour you select. No dummy or soother is supplied — see the exclusions at the end.

Fabric and safety

This is the section to read on this product rather than the one to skip.

  • It is a soother holder, not a teether. The beads are soft enough to be mouthed while the dummy is attached, but this is not something to hand a baby to chew on its own, and it does not replace a proper teether.
  • Check the beads before every use. Pull each one gently along the cord. Beads on a threaded cord are the failure point on this style, and a bead that has worked loose is a small part at mouth height.
  • Clip it to clothing at the front, and nothing else. Never fasten it to a cot, a pram bar, a car seat, a bag strap or bedding, and never lengthen it with a ribbon or a second clip.
  • Take it off for sleep, along with anything else loose.

Mixing two materials sets the cleaning rule, and it is the stricter of the two that applies. Silicone would take sterilising; beech will not. Wood swells when it takes on water and the grain lifts as it dries, so the whole thing is wipe-only — a beech bead that has gone rough is a bead to retire.

Fit notes

The loop end suits a standard dummy with a ring or a shield opening. A dummy with a solid shield and no ring will not attach, so check the one you already use before ordering.

The clip grips a jumper or a cardigan better than a thin vest, where it can slide. Fasten it through a seam or a placket rather than flat fabric if it needs to hold through a car journey.

Styling

Cream, Oat and Khaki are the three that disappear against almost anything and are the sensible first buy. Blush and Light Lilac are barely stronger. Pea Green and Light Blue carry the most colour of a quiet set. The beech beads warm all eight up, so none of these read as cold the way a plain white plastic clip does.

Care

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly, paying attention to where the beads meet the cord, since that is where water sits. Do not boil, sterilise, soak or use a dishwasher — the beech is what rules all four out. Do not use oils or polishes on the wood.

What is not included

No dummy, soother or teether is supplied — the clip is provided on its own for you to attach your own. Clothing, comforters, toys and anything else shown in the photographs are styling only.
