White Flower silicone beaded dummy clip

Silicone Flower Dummy Clip | Flat and Round Beads

£8.99

Opening

Three bead shapes, and they behave differently rather than just looking different. Flat beads lie against a jumper so the clip swings less when a baby turns their head. Round beads stand proud and are easier for a small hand to find. The flower shape sits between the two.

All three come on a short cord with a clip at one end and a loop at the other, in a palette of muted greys, pinks, khaki and green. It fastens to the front of a top, and nowhere else.

What you get

One dummy clip in the design you select. No dummy or soother is supplied — see the exclusions at the end.

Fabric and safety

This is the section to read on this product rather than the one to skip.

  • Check the beads before every use. Pull each one gently along the cord. Beads on a threaded cord are the failure point on this style, and a bead that has worked loose is a small part at mouth height. Retire the clip rather than restringing it.
  • Clip it to clothing at the front, and nothing else. Never fasten a soother holder to a cot, a pram bar, a car seat, a bag strap or bedding.
  • Never lengthen it. Do not tie it to a ribbon, a second clip or anything else to gain reach. Length is the hazard with any soother holder, and the short cord is deliberate.
  • Take it off for sleep, along with anything else loose.

Silicone is why the cleaning is quick and also why the inspection matters. It does not absorb, so a wipe genuinely cleans it — but it is slightly flexible, which means a bead can ease along a cord over months of pulling in a way a rigid one would not.

Fit notes

The loop end suits a standard dummy with a ring or a shield opening. A dummy with a solid shield and no ring will not attach, so check the one you already use before ordering.

Bead shape is worth thinking about rather than picking on looks alone. Flat beads are the ones to choose for a pram or a car seat, where a swinging clip catches on things. Round beads suit a baby who has started reaching for the clip themselves.

Styling

Khaki, Light Grey and White sit against almost anything. The pinks run Soft Pink, Pink and Blush, close enough together to be matched to an outfit rather than approximated. Pea Green and Olive are the only two with real depth. The flower profile reads decorative; flat and round read plain.

Care

Wipe with a damp cloth, or rinse under a warm tap and dry thoroughly, paying attention to where the beads meet the cord, since that is where water sits. Do not boil, sterilise or put it in a dishwasher — the cord and clip will not take the heat the beads would.

What is not included

No dummy, soother or teether is supplied — the clip is provided on its own for you to attach your own. Clothing, comforters, toys and anything else shown in the photographs are styling only.
