A giant bunny plush that fills the corner of a room

Seventy centimetres from base to ear tip, in arctic white long pile faux fur shot through with fine black tipping. The tipping is what makes it read as fur rather than fabric — it gives the coat depth, so the shape still holds from across a room instead of flattening into a white blob.

White is the one that goes anywhere. It sits in a nursery, a teenager's room or a hallway without having to match anything, which is why it is the version most people buy when the bunny is a present and they do not know the room it is going into.

Faux fur, not real

The coat is [COMP]. The black tipping is dyed into the pile, not natural, and no animal product is used anywhere in this toy. The finish is convincing in photographs so we say it plainly.

Why the pile length matters

Most large plush is made in short pile because it is quicker to cut and sew. At 70cm a short pile toy looks like upholstery. A [PILE]cm pile moves when it is carried, catches the light along the guard hairs and gives the bunny a silhouette instead of an outline.

It arrives compressed from the carton. Shake it out, run your fingers back through the pile and leave it an hour; it returns to full volume on its own.

Measured standing, from the base to the tip of the ear. Measure your space before ordering the 70cm — it is bigger than people picture.

Care

• Surface wash with a damp cloth and mild detergent
• Do not machine wash at this size
• Do not tumble dry, do not bleach, do not iron
• Brush the pile with a soft brush to lift it after cleaning
• Keep out of direct sunlight — white fades and yellows faster than the dyed colours

Safety

For supervised use. The eyes and nose are firmly fitted moulded parts; check them along with the seams from time to time and stop using the toy if anything works loose.

Keep soft toys out of the cot while a baby is sleeping unattended, in line with Lullaby Trust safer sleep guidance.
