The giant pink bunny plush, 70cm tall

A bright rose pink long pile faux fur, broken up with fine black tipping so it has shadow in it rather than being one flat sheet of colour. Seventy centimetres standing, with knotted ears that fall forward and limbs long enough to drape over an arm.

This is the colour people come looking for. Pink plush at this size is usually either baby pink and insipid or neon and cheap — a rose base with black through it is neither, and it is the reason this one photographs as an expensive object instead of a toy.

Faux fur, not real

The coat is [COMP] and the pink and black are both dyed. No animal product is used anywhere in this toy. Worth stating, because the finish fools people in photographs.

Where it ends up

Almost always a bedroom corner or the end of a bed. At 70cm it is furniture as much as a toy, and it does the job a cushion or a beanbag would do while being something a child actually wants.

It arrives compressed from the carton. Shake it out, run your fingers back through the pile and give it an hour to recover its volume.

Size guide

Measured standing, from the base to the tip of the ear. Measure your space before ordering the 70cm.

Care

• Surface wash with a damp cloth and mild detergent
• Do not machine wash at this size
• Do not tumble dry, do not bleach, do not iron
• Brush the pile with a soft brush to lift it after cleaning
• Keep out of direct sunlight, which fades dyed pile over time

Safety

For supervised use. The eyes and nose are firmly fitted moulded parts; check them along with the seams from time to time and stop using the toy if anything works loose.

Keep soft toys out of the cot while a baby is sleeping unattended, in line with Lullaby Trust safer sleep guidance.
