Car and Crochet Elephant boxed newborn bath and gift set

Newborn Bath and Gift Set | Crochet Toys and Brush

Set

Opening

Bath time is the part of the day nobody buys for in advance. This set covers it — a soft brush, a rattle, socks and a hand-crocheted animal — which is why it works as a gift for people who already own three comforters.

It is the largest set in the range and the only one built around the bath rather than the pram or cot.

What you get

A boxed set with a soft wool brush, socks and a rattle, plus the items named in the option you select — a wooden car with a crochet elephant or lion, a finger teether with a crochet bunny, or the pink headband version. The gallery images show each set's exact contents; check before ordering.

Fabric and safety

More separate pieces than anything else in the range, so more to look over.

  • The crochet animal. Crochet is one continuous yarn, so a pulled loop can run. Trim loose ends on arrival, and retire it if the work opens up.
  • The brush. Check the bristles are held firmly before first use and periodically after. A bristle that pulls out is a small part.
  • The car and the teether. Wheels and anything that turns work loose first, and the teether spends the most time in a mouth.
  • The headband. Loose enough to slide a finger under, and off for sleep.

Natural bristle is the point of the brush rather than a detail of it. Wool fibre is finer and softer at the tip than a moulded synthetic, which makes it usable on hair too fine for an ordinary brush to catch. The trade is that it behaves like an animal fibre — it must not be soaked, and it loses shape and holds odour if left wet.

Fit notes

The socks are the shortest-lived piece and the brush the longest, staying useful years past the point everything else has been outgrown — worth weighing against a cheaper set.

The four options differ in price because they differ in contents, not just in animal.

Styling

Elephant and lion are the neutral choices and bunny the traditional one. The pink headband option is aimed at a specific look, so it is the pick when you know the parents and the wrong one when you do not. This suits a second or third baby, where the obvious things are already owned and the bath is the gap.

Care

Keep the brush out of the machine — shake it, wipe the handle, stand it bristles-up and let it dry fully. Hand wash the crochet animal in cool water and dry flat rather than hanging it, since wet crochet stretches under its own weight and does not go back. Machine wash the socks at 30°C in a mesh bag. Wipe the wooden and silicone pieces. The box is card and is not washable.

What is not included

The gift box is included; additional wrapping, ribbon and a gift card are not. Toiletries, towels, bath tubs, clothing and anything else shown beyond the set itself are styling only, as are pieces belonging to the other options.
